The Cheetah Girls

I may be corny for writing about a Disney Channel movie , but when it reminds you of  simpler times, it makes you feel better just thinking about it. The Cheetah Girls is a movie /musical about four friends in a girl singing group. The four girls are Galleria (the "leader"), Chanel (the soft spoken one), Aqua (the outspoken one), and Dorinda (a foster child who is also a really great dancer). The girls are so talented, they get discovered by the owner of a record company. The owner wants to change the Cheetah girls into something completely different than who they really are. Galleria wants to make all of the decisions for everyone in the group, so they leave her. After Galleria is kicked out of the group, they all go their separate ways. One day Galleria's dog gets stuck in the sewer, so all the girls come to her rescue until they get her dog out. Then they break out into a song and they're friends again.
Then blah, blah, blah long story short you think it's all about friendship. Part of the main lesson is friendship, but it's deeper than that. The main lesson is : A strong bond is made from a relationship where people let others think for themselves and be independent. Working together is effective too, but only to a certain extent. The movie also reminds me of when I was little, and my cousins and I would act out the whole movie.

The Big Bang of Physics

My physics class is not what I thought I had signed up for. I was so eager to do the class in the first place because it was always talked about on one of my favorite shows "The Big Bang Theory". I thought that it was going to be a bunch of science but then our teacher , Ms. Hudson started to introduce numbers into the equation (no pun intended). At first it seemed like Chemistry, but as we learned more I realized it's nothing like chemistry. Physics is more like math, and I was confused because I thought it was a science class. Ms. Hudson told me that math connects to every subject in a way, but I still did not understand why we were doing math in a science class. I try and try in that class until I feel like giving up. What makes it even worse is that I'm a senior in a class filled with a majority of juniors. There is one junior in particular who always decides to shout out her answers like the rest of us are stupid. There's nothing wrong with being smart, but overdoing it is unecessary.
Physics class makes me question my very existence. However it also makes me think of things in different ways. Also, when I don't get answers right, Ms. Hudson talks to me in an accent and she makes weird faces at me. I'm actually really happy she's my physics teacher.

The perks of being a wallflower

The book "The perks of being a Wallflower" speaks to me in ways no one could ever imagine. Everything about the book reminds me of my life, just another time and setting. The main character Charlie (a wallflower) is different among everyone else and he seems to fit in with a certain group of people who aren't anything like him. He has family issues, and he loses extremely important people in his life. The one thing he doesn't lose is himself. His positive attitude and state of mind help him to remain the great person he is. He likes to please the people around him, and doesn't seem to judge others because of their differences. For example, during a party he found his friend Patrick kissing another boy. He didn't really understand the concept of homosexuality, but he completely accepts him because that's just who he is.
In another part of the book, he was also shown to be very intelligent. Which I love even more about him. He is smarter than others in his school, but he chooses not to brag about it. He simply waits until that one person decides to take him for a fool, and he proves them wrong. Ever since I read the Perks of being a wallflower , I had felt as though Charlie was me and this book was meant to be in my hands. That is why I always call myself a wallflower, and embrace being different from those around me.

Creativity and Wallflowers

Some may say that their passion is music, some say their passion is sports. My passion is the one that ties every passion together: creativity. I would hate to live in a world where everyone or everything is the same. Everyone has their own style, talents, way of viewing the world. If we were without that I would never want to wake up in the morning. Like in my favorite book "The Perks of Being A Wallflower", the main character Charlie reminds me a lot of myself. He sees things that are strange, things he's never seen before. These strange things fascinate him because of the fact that its different, or creative. It shows him that its okay to not be like everyone else.
Everything we know of derives from creativity. The beginning of a T.V. series starts with someone's idea for a show plot, laws come from ideas of everyday people, every singer has a different voice and sings for a different genre of music. Dancers create their own choreography, just like basketball coaches create the team plays. These ideas all come from someones creative state of mind. The English language is creative itself. Creativity surrounds us from the day we are born throughout the rest of our lives, and it helped  us to develop into the society that we are today.  That is why creativity is my passion.

The reality of reality

The book we are reading is is called Fahrenheit 451. The beginning of the book, the part that we
started reading shows a lot of what their world is like. Their world is a lot like ours in a way. The
media and its society has a very significant effect on everyone's mindset. While everyone should have a mindset of their own, they don't because of what is going on around them, and same thing with us. For example, if we see a celebrity with designer clothes on, the rest of the world who idolizes these celebrities will want to wear these designers themselves. The media and the government want us to be completely oblivious to everything, using things like laws, or even television programs. Reality television shows keep us entertained with foolishness about peoples "real" lives, and we seem to be okay with that. It keeps us from being knowledgeable about what is going on around us. People in reality t.v. aren't even a glimpse of what the real life is like. Television producers and casting directors do enough research to understand what will entertain simple minds, and it works. Despite their family's riches, their money just seems to add up because of the people glued to their T.V. screens watching their shows.

I, am the definition of unique. I have my own way of doing and viewing things most people do not. I believe the reason that I am this way is because of not where I grew up, but who I grew up with. I have 7 siblings including a stepbrother and sister. I love nice old people because they are adorable, and they're always telling me how much I look like a doll they had when they were little. Even though I am always being compared to one, I can't stand cats. I believe that they are inferior compared to dogs. Some teenage girls call their best friend the person they've known since the 2nd grade. My best friend on the other hand is my mommy. I may appear only African American, but I am also Panamanian. My birthday is September the 4th, just like Beyonce's. My favorite movie is The Lion King, it teaches so many life lessons to not only children but adults who need it. I can be very indecisive at times, but one I know what I want, I go for it. When I have a daughter I either want to name her Eileen after my mother, or Mariposa,  which means butterfly in Spanish. My favorite color is pink because its pretty, my second favorite color is periwinkle because its unique and bold yet so unknown, just like me.
